Technical Craft Resources and other Helpful Links
I can't teach you to knit or crochet. Well, it's possible that I could, but that would probably mean you'd have to know me first and have a tolerance for my sense of humor. It might help if it was in a non-virtual context. Bribes would certainly help. Eventually, I'd like to have a collection of video clips showing techniques I use in my project, like the short demo on the side, but that's a ways off. However, the wealth of information out there means you don't have to rely on me or put up with my jokes. There are plenty of useful books, but for this we'll confine ourselves to the web. I collected a few of my favorite links for techniques that I've used to make my patterns. Some of these I used to learn, some I think just explain the concept well. |

Help with pretty much everything (knitting)
It's highly likely you'll find what you'd like to know knitting-wise on one of these sites.
You tube is a terrific source for educational videos. You can search it to find the techniques that interest you. I've linked to some I've found helpful below.

The Knitty Version
Direct link to her site
I recommend the version on her site. The Knitty article explains things quite thoroughly. The site version is the same plus much, much more. She goes into more detail, answers some frequently asked questions, addresses concerns that others have brought up and discusses ways to use it. Amazingly informative all around. She also has links to the Spanish and Icelandic translations.

Double Knitting
The first two links are from Stitch Diva Studios. (If using this for reference for the Country Gingham towel, keep in mind that these tutorials are for double-knitting in stockinette. The handle for the towel is in garter stitch, so while the ideas are the same, the techniques differ slightly.)
